In the budget for 2021, the government announced that the GST voucher (GSTV) – cash recipients will receive a one-time GSTV – cash special payment of $ 200 in addition to the regular GSTV – cash payment.
In addition, all eligible HDB households will receive an additional 50 percent of their regular GSTV – U-Save this year, through a one-time GSTV – U-Save special payment.
These are part of the 2021 Household Support Package, which provides additional support to families during this period of uncertainty, and low- and middle-income families receive more.
GST voucher – Cash special payment
Singaporeans with lower incomes who qualify for GSTV – Cash (paid each August) will receive an additional cash special payment of $ 200 from June 23.
In total, Singaporeans with lower incomes can receive up to $ 500 GSTV this year – special cash and cash payments, to help them with their daily living expenses. This will benefit about 1.4 million Singaporeans, and of these eligible citizens, nine out of 10 will automatically receive their payments.
GSTV – Cash up to $ 300 will be paid directly into citizens ’bank accounts from July 30th.
Those who do not have a PayNow-NRIC bank account, but have previously given their bank account number to the Government, will receive their payments by bank transfer on June 30, and others will receive checks sent to the official address as of July 15.
This component of the GST voucher scheme will amount to approximately $ 405 million.
In addition, about 575,000 Singaporeans aged 65 and over in 2021 will also receive a top-up to $ 450 in their CPF MediSave accounts from July 30. The total additions will amount to about 170 million US dollars.
