3 reasons why the Atlanta Falcons should sign Le’veon Bell

Despite repeated protests by NFL experts, Le’Veon Bell is in a way a free agent. The once great run backwards already needed to find a home, with an emphasis on “needs”. The Falcons could be the perfect place for Bella for several reasons. Unless Falcons is doing everything to lose, here are three reasons why signing Bell would be a big upgrade.

Why should Le’Veon Bell land with the Atlanta Falcons?

# 1 – Mass upgrade completed Mike Davis

It seems to be Falcons plan to use journeymen Mike Davis as their start running backwards. That decision confuses Le’Veon Bell in the market at the end of the year. While Mike Davis comes with the best season of his career with eight touchdowns and about 1,000 universal yards, every other season has been pretty skinny for Davis. The Falcons are Davis ’fifth team in seven seasons.

Le’Veon Bell, on the other hand, has a ceiling that is twice as good as Davis ’best year. In his final year with the Steelers, Bell earned nearly 2,000 yards and 11 touchdowns.

# 2 – Playoff experience

While Davis has been part of the playoff teams in the past, Le’Veon Bell has been a much larger part of the play-off tracks. Bell’s dwarf play-off experience Davis’ experience. If the Falcons find themselves in the playoffs this year, they’ll have to worry more about Davis ’mental toughness than Le’Veon Bell’s.

While Davis is almost guaranteed to press under pressure, Bell has a proven ability to concentrate under intense play-off pressure. Where Davis would probably shoot, Bell would be an example to other players.

# 3 – He’s still 20 years old

At 29, Bell could be a perennial solution for running backwards. Plus, by staying on the field for so long, Bell should be fresher than the other 29-year-old defenders. Basically, Bell could easily play until his early 30s. This would give the Atlanta Falcons enough time to find a long-term replacement.

By comparison, Mike Davis is 28 years old. By signing Le’Veon Bell, the Falcons would only become a year older in that position. While one year is something to consider in the NFL, it seems like it’s a small price you have to pay to regain Bell’s caliber.
