Which children’s books have you enjoyed recently? This weekend, I found several new books written by Asian and Asian-American authors, and the boys loved them.
First: Eyes kissing in the corners Joanna Ho, and illustrated by Dung Ho. How beautiful is that title? We really liked it too A different pond Bao Phi, illustrated by Thi Bui; When the relatives came Katie Yamasaki; i Jar with a name – Yangsook Choi.
If the kids in your life are ready for chapter books, Superbetle Sr. Michele Chen looks amazing. It tells the story of an eight-year-old girl who visits her grandmother in Taiwan. She discovers that her grandmother is planning to close her dumpling shop because she feels too old to run it. Also, a huge colorful beetle is sitting in the tub! What’s great about Superbeetle is that the author explains how certain Mandarin Chinese words are pronounced in the story.
I would love to hear more recommendations if you have them. xoxo
PS Children’s books with female characters, i children’s books by black authors. Plus, cosmetic uniform Ruth Chan, illustrator of a book for children.
