Efforts to free the ship from the Suez Canal continue after the ship has been ‘partially overflowed’

Effort to drive the Ever Given – a cargo ship the size of a skyscraper – from the Suez Canal, one of the world ‘s busiest shipping routes, will resume on Monday, after the channel services company announced that rescue teams had “partially reconditioned” the ship. The breakthrough followed intense efforts to push the boat and pull it out with 10 tugs and suck sand with several excavators at spring tide. Lt. Gen. Osama Rabei, the head of the Suez Canal’s administration, said the workers continued to “withdraw the maneuver” to re-unload the vessel early Monday. In the U.S., the blockade could exacerbate months of slashing in the global supply chain, causing a shortage of products such as toilet paper, coffee and furniture.
