Biden and Johnson say the meeting will be about confirming ties. Will the tension boil?
At his first stop before going to the G-7 summit amid a crowd in Europe, President Joe Biden will meet with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Thursday in Cornwall, West England. Both sides have publicly stressed that the meeting will be held to reaffirm ties between longtime allies. But tensions could linger beneath the surface as Biden resolutely opposed the Brexit movement – the British exodus from the European Union advocated by Johnson – and Biden once called the British leader a “physical and emotional clone” of Trump. It is expected that one issue will be agreed upon opening the journey between the two nations “as soon as possible” through the new Atlantic Charter. The declaration will be modeled on a joint statement by President Franklin D. Roosevelt and Prime Minister Winston Churchill in 1941, who set out their vision of the world after World War II.

Another treat for sky watchers: A solar eclipse
Just two weeks after the lunar eclipse, a treat awaits the observers of heaven. A solar eclipse will be visible in parts of North America on Thursday. The eclipse journey begins at sunrise in Ontario, Canada (on the north side of Lake Superior), and then orbits the northern parts of the world. A full eclipse will last approximately an hour and 40 minutes. Although the U.S. will miss part of the “ring of fire” eclipse, people living along the East Coast and Upper Midwest will get a chance to see a partial solar eclipse just after sunrise. This annular eclipse is when the moon covers the center of the sun, leaving the visible outer edge of the sun to form a “ring of fire” or “ring ring” around the moon.
