More than half of the Formula 1 network was called to the stewards after late incidents at the Austrian GP – including a big drop between Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel.

A total of 11 drivers have been called to FIA stewards – 10 for alleged offenses related to Raikkonen and Vettel’s last turnpike – while George Russell is also under investigation for his defense against Fernando Alonso.

Raikkonen and Vettel battled for 12th place in the final lap of the penalty-loaded race before reuniting after turn 4, sending Alfa Romeo and Aston Martin cars into the gravel, just as Max Verstappen was finishing his victory.

The incident led to double-waving yellows at the crash site, through which many drivers passed on their way to the checkered flag. After the race, FIA stewards called in eight drivers – five of whom finished in the top 10 – for allegedly insufficient deceleration.

Carlos Sainz (5th), Sergio Perez (6th), Daniel Ricciardo (7th), Charles Leclerc (8th), Pierre Gasly (9th), Antonio Giovinazzi (14th), Nicholas Latifi (15th) and Nikita Mazepin (19th) to report to the stewards after the race.

These calls are in addition to the investigation after the race against Raikkonen and Vettel due to the accident itself.

Russell, meanwhile, will see the stewards on Sunday night after it was claimed he started under the brakes in a late fight with Alonso for the final scoring position.

Reacting to their accident, former Ferrari teammates Raikkonen and Vettel seemed confused by the contact.

“I have to see it,” Raikkonen said. “Obviously it happened very quickly. The tires touched and then we go … but that didn’t change the end result. Sometimes things go wrong.”

Vettel added: “I don’t know [what happened]. It must have been a misunderstanding. There was certainly no intention on my part. “

Even more to follow.
