Transport company ComfortDelGro announced today (June 7th) that it will link its taxis, private buses, car rentals and leasing and lifestyle to a new division called Private Mobility Group.
According to the company, this move aims to synergize and harness its main strengths in land transport solutions, while making it easier for customers to access various services in the Group.
As part of this plan, ComfortDelGro will introduce a “mega application” that will allow customers to choose between different service offerings from one platform until the beginning of next year.
Basically, customers can use the app to book taxis, private buses, car rentals and leases.
For example, taxi users can choose to rent a car for the weekend just by clicking on the “One CDG” option in the app. The new PMG will have a combined fleet of over 12,000 vehicles.
The app will also include lifestyle options like restaurant reservations that are currently available in its Zig app.
Jackson Chia, head of the Private Mobility Group, shared that the company plans to add other services to the Group in the future, such as student driving services and medical transportation.
“We intend to redirect a wide range of CDG transportation solutions to provide comfort to the different communities we serve,” he said.
“The ComfortDelGro Group has a wide range of mobility solutions in Singapore. Pooling resources at PMG will enable us to develop smart and green intermodal mobility solutions for our clients. Thanks to scale and our diverse range of assets, we will be in a better position to enter into partnerships to experiment and offer innovative products and services. “
