Pittsburgh Steelers corner Justin Layne was arrested Friday morning.
Layne was arrested on suspicion of carrying heavy firearms inside the vehicle, according to Lake County, Ohio prison records. They are also accused of two offenses – driving with a suspended license and exceeding the speed limit. Layne was booked on Friday just after 3 p.m. He is currently awaiting a preparatory hearing.
The Steelers put together Layne in the third round of the 2019 draft from the state of Michigan. The 23-year-old appeared in 16 games last season and had a total of 22 fights. Layne’s arrest happened less than 20 miles northeast of Cleveland, where he went to high school.
No other details regarding the arrest were immediately available.
