Charlotte Jacklin is located near Lincoln, a small cathedral town a few hours north of London. “You’re just as old, like Harry Potter with the cobbled streets,” she says. “If you were to visit, you’d think it was pretty sweet, but I’d like we could with more restaurants and exciting stuff!” He lives with his wife, four-year-old daughter and almost one-year-old dog. Here, she shares five garments she wore in a week …
Up: Jacket: Magpie Vintage. Dress: Stalf. Boots: Office.
“I think I have the confidence to wear loud clothes because my parents worked in fashion retail. I was raised around clothes. I went through a phase in my twenties when I wore a lot of black and white and I was really in my sixties. When I got my daughter, I ended up in the pastel realm I am in now. This dress is made by Lincolnshire-based Stalf, an hour away from me. I love that they are in the countryside and they do it all. My daughter will say, ‘You look so beautiful, Mom. Can you spin in that dress? ‘It’s a big bonus in her world. ”
Coat: Vintage greetings. T-shirt: Strange Molly. Jeans: Levis More. Boots: Office. Bag: Mark Cross via eBay.
“After my daughter was born, I thought I would never wear jeans again because I had grown by a few sizes. But then I found those Levi jeans on my chest. They are my favorite. This is my version of jeans and a T-shirt – I added a vintage coat that was probably originally Nana’s nightgown. (The vintage has been reworked; the woman has cut off the hem and changed the buttons and makes the appropriate mess.) The bag is from eBay. I will strive to buy cheaper pieces second hand – especially when it comes to handbags. They are often still in the mint, and they hold their value even when you go to resell them. “
Dress: Homeward Found Vintage. Vest: Honeybea. Cart: Blooming Dreamer. Boots: Office.
“It’s harder to find a harvest in larger sizes. I used to just go into thrift stores and that wasn’t a problem, but now I find great things and they don’t close. This dress is a little wedding, but I love it. And I carried this basket so much. People say, oh, you have a basket, and I’m like yes, but it’s really practical! I studied fashion at a university in a really very small town. My school friends and I were FUNNY dressed and I talk funny. None of the locals dressed like that, and I used to stand out. I also think that self-confidence comes with age. I just dress for myself and if people think I look a little weird, I don’t burden myself too much. “
Hat: Yokoo Gibraan. Coat: The sea. Bag: Kate Spade. Joggers: Staff. Boots: Grenson.
“We took photos on the beach an hour away from our house. I hope they come across a funny time here – I’m in a hat on the beach, and I have bare hands the next day. We have also had fights over the past few hours. That’s why the British talk so much about the weather. I love this patchwork coat and I love the bag over the body so I can hold the dog and grab the baby. “
Headband: Etsy. Dress: Go on. Shoes: Loeffler Randall. Bag: Shrimp by the way eBay.
“Here, my husband and I went out for a late lunch outdoors. We were able to eat out recently, so I wanted to dress up. The shoes are for sale by Loeffler Randall. I am waiting for their sale every year. I absolutely love them. My husband and I met when we were younger, during my 60s phase. I had false eyelashes and a hive of peroxide. He likes my style. He dresses well, though sometimes he brings home a buffer jacket, and I’m like, no. It can be used at work.
“For my daughter, I hope, for her whole generation, that size is no less. I was very aware of my size very young. She is four years old and I hope she will still be confident in what she is wearing. The way you look in the mirror is the most beautiful thing. She stands there and looks so proud of herself; it does not look for flaws. Maybe her generation will accept different body shapes more. Fingers crossed, I live in hope. ”
