Bahubali Shete, Asha Shete and celebrity Masterchef Sanjeev Kapoor, Tinychef’s first culinary AI platform, is ready to buy Zelisha for an undisclosed sum. As an accelerator for Techstars and a company supported by Bosch and Siemens Home Appliances, Zelish was founded two years ago by Rakesh Edavalath, Saakshi Jain and Arpit Joseph.
By purchasing Zelisha, Tinychef will also gain access to 125,000 users of the app and of which 35 percent are monthly active users.
Speaking about the acquisition of Zelish, the co-founder, said Saakshi Jain. “With Tinychef in the picture, users can look forward to a completely hands-free experience. We look forward to the Zelish app expanding across the Indian subcontinent and increasing its presence globally in the North American market as well.”
Rakesh Edavalath, co-founder of Zelish, added: “Most people who run the kitchen complain that there is a constant change between phone management and managing these tasks. People will soon be able to enjoy the Zelish experience on voice assistants like Alex, instead of moving forward -back to the recipe videos. “
Nearly 4 million recipes were requested, and over 1.7 million meals were prepared using the Tinychef skill on Alexa in India alone, and over half a million recipes were made using Zelish last year, the statement said.
“Tinychef already has more than a million users and more than 100,000 active monthly users in India, and within a month of launch has gathered over 25,000 users in North America, with most of the user base belonging to the US and Canadian markets,” the statement added.
The company has raised over $ 2 million in venture capital. The last round of the $ 1 million seed was led by the Venture Catalysts accelerator. Tinychef is also part of the initial cohort of Google for Startups Accelerator: Voice and AI Accelerator Program.
Zelish allows customers to plan meals, buy ingredients and cook based on recipes from famous chefs and influencers like Ranveer Brar & Hebbar’s Kitchen.
