Dish TV’s profit in the first quarter fell by 34 percent to 49.14 kr

Dish TV India Ltd reported directly to the house on Thursday a decline in consolidated net profit of 34.07 percent to 49.14 kroner for the first quarter ending in June 2021.

The company reported a net profit of 74.54 kroner in the quarter from April to June a year ago, according to Dish TV in a BSE submission.

Revenue from the operation fell 12.51 percent to 730.97 crore during the quarter from 835.58 croe in the same quarter.

Total expenses amounted to 672.80 ₹ ,, which is 10.03% less in the first quarter of 2021-22. Year compared to 47477.87 crore in the same quarter.

Commenting on the results, Dish TV India Group CEO Anil Dua said: “After we managed to withstand the pandemic last year, we embarked on a new fiscal policy with a sense of cautious optimism, however, the magnitude of the second wave came as a gross shock.

“Although we have been operationally tampered with because of our digital infrastructure, what has affected us is the decline in consumer spending on entertainment due to other urgent needs.” The return of consumer confidence will affect consumer spending during the first half of this fiscal year.

“We plan to counter the sluggishness by re-powering our distribution network with new schemes and offers that would sustain our mission of providing unsurpassed entertainment at unsurpassed value for money,” he added.

Shares of DishTV India Ltd on Thursday on BSE calmed down to 14.03 ₹, which is 18.20 percent more than the previous close.
