Lauren from Big blonde hair is here to talk to us about Dorit Kemsley’s iconic, ever-changing fashion choices.
Maybe you already met Lauren when she was came to the blog to tell us all about how she turned her passion into a full mark, but just to summarize:
I stumbled upon Lauren Sebastian’s blog by accident Big blonde hair where she was literally breaking down exactly what I was looking for. HOSTS OUTCOMES. She organized all of these outfits by reality TV stars, and I just thought it was the most ingenious thing I’ve ever seen.
Lauren pays attention to Real housewives shows, finds exactly the same clothes and accessories they wear, and then posts about them on her blog. Talk about a niche.
Like I said, I’m so excited about the spotlight on Dorit today. Let’s go with Lauren now.
Fashion of Housewives: Dorit Kemsley Spotlight

Since I actually live and breathe Real Housewives fashion as the editor of BigBlondeHair.com, I am naturally asked who I think is the best dressed housewife in the rerun. Since many of them have different parts of their wardrobes that I love, I haven’t been able to dedicate myself to just one answer for a while. But after Dorit Kemsley served some of my favorite views ever on Bravocon and appeared until the 10th season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills bringing her an A + game, I finally had a clear answer. And as it ends, Lauryn and I have more in common than our names (yes, she has a cooler spelling).
WHY DORIT?
I started Big Blonde Hair first because the real housewives were too tall, super hot and always brought fashion that was worth talking about. So when I turn on the TV to find clothes to cover Big Blonde Hair, I want to look at something and talk about it. And whether Dorit wears it famous gray tracksuit in trouble or rocking a good 75% Versace store in one go, it always gives me what I want. So much for that I actually spent a day with her stylist Jazmin Gonzalez last year, and got a real inside look at what creates a look worthy of our favorite fashion queen.
FULL BRANDS
Although I have a major place for a relative real housewife, I am completely obsessed with DK’s aspiration. When people say they wear too many labels and overdo it, I often wonder why they look at real housewives. Isn’t that what we want ?! Whether Dorit is rocking a proven and true fashion house like Chanel or a newer designer brand like Off-White or Heron Preston, I’m aware of that and totally take note of the parts she wears.
HAIR:
When I watch real housewives, I LIVE to see Dorit with her head covered in crystal hairpins at a reunion or with a braid heavier than her adorable kids (like, probably combined) at some event! Dorit always finds it interesting and thematic. If it swings mod, a look inspired by the 70s, her tall pony and scarf are part of the look. If the “topic” mafia wife Versace reality, her hair falls completely in order. It’s a style component that even the biggest stars sometimes make mistakes and can completely make or break the look. Her longtime hairdresser, Justin Marjan, always nails it.
MAKE UP:
If so makeup or cosmetic product and Dorit uses it, report me. Although she has a prominent team, the looks they create for her are so versatile that they can completely change her look. However, even when she posts a picture without a lot of makeup, she is simply stunning. I love her gloss with bare lips and smoky eyes, but she can also take off the red color!
TRAVEL:
Dorita’s look of travel is the next level. As someone who likes to go on vacation with certain pieces for every place (i.e. I like to think I have a wardrobe in Miami, a wardrobe in Vegas, a wardrobe in New York, etc.), my dear housewife from Beverly Hills takes this to the next level completely. Is it turning the streets of Rome into the Versace runway in an unforgettable look or shopping in Vegas in a pink set inspired by Gucci pajamas which would affect the future views of her followers and fellow colleagues, she is always ready to turn her head as she travels. And as we know, it takes a village to create a look, and hers is always on the way.
CASUAL:
I’m also a big fan of Dorita’s casual style, which often includes some designer sneakers and an oversized t-shirt from a recognizable luxury brand. I mean, what better way to tweak a look than to let people know you let the house payment on it? I’m kidding in part, but I really think a couple of designer strokes can really elevate a causal look and DK doesn’t leave the house without them. I’m always for the hood when it’s time to cool down.
ACCESSORIES:
BAGS:
If Dorit is carrying a purse, we want to know where she’s from, and she wants us to know. Either it boasts a great logo or informs you that it exists “Cash inside” , she lets her bags talk. During Season 8, she was the first housewife to strap on a belt bag since they showed up, and you’ll notice that the other ‘Wives’ have definitely followed their example. Even her a tiny, tiny Jacqumus micro bag was a topic of more than just conversation during season 10!
SHOES:
Is it walking in the swing of some sheer Yeezy sandals around Season 7 (and 9) or forcing us to say hmmmm with some purple boots OTK Balenciaga, Ms. Kemsley does not come to play in the shoe department. And while I especially love her casual collection, she always knows that what you wear on your feet can make or break any look
JEWELERY:
It can be in the form of a necklace, a brooch with a safety pin, layered belts or even in the hair, but Dorit knows that some look that gives statements is always important for the look. And like everything else, don’t expect anything subtle.
One of my favorites The houses inspired by the purchase are these necklaces I bought with my son’s names after seeing Dorit wearing them! And if someone can make me want to wear necklaces with my child’s names, you know they are of great influence.
EVOLUTION:
Although her style has definitely evolved, even during Dorita’s first season, she cast a few glances and since then they have only gotten better. Her looks in Italy during season 10 and her Instagram off-season shots have really solidified this and I can’t wait to see what follows from the hottest housewife to date
