In 2020, I started exercising at home, as well as a lot. I’m as safe as most of the world.
I’m kind of in love with it. It’s much easier than going somewhere and most importantly, it saves time! Launching the Skinny Confidential Body app, the habit of exercising at home was so easy.
For those unfamiliar with the TSC Body App, no equipment is required. Like, you don’t need a single piece of equipment. But in this post I want to share items that make my exercises at home a little difficult.
Rest assured, everything is sweet, pastel and fits in perfectly a small pink laundry basket (except for the ball – I keep it in Zaza’s room because she’s playing with it).
Okay, let’s go straight to my favorite workout equipment at home.
Skinny Confidential exercise equipment favorites:
♡ white yoga mat
I’ve always wanted a white yoga mat because I love how pastel colors look against it. I know it sounds weird, but I love things that make me feel good, and when things look good, I feel good.
This mat is sticky in a perfect way. Not sticky, but like the flu. It stays in place. So whether you are doing the dog down, weights or jumping on it, it will not move and stumble.
Zaza also likes to have fun on his stomach because of it. She loves it. This is good advice if you are at home and trying to exercise, but your baby is awake. You have to find ways to make it work, you know?
♡ a large pink ball
This ball is not needed, but it was great for the back. It’s cute, light pink and has this light metallic finish for a little sparkle. Zaza loves to play with this.
But like I said, I noticed I use it for exercise and stretching. It’s crazy because of the big difference in back pain, because they give me a lot of support.
♡ pink dumbbells
These are just your usual old weights, but they are pink. They come in a ton of colors and also different weights, but I love the 2kg ones. They have a nice grip and finish the job. My hands burn after I use them.
If you’re not a person with weight, I get it. You can always use a band …
♡ resistance strips
There are 2 types of bands I use. It’s one the set I use for my legs & comes in different shades of pink. Shocker. They come in all different ‘weights’ or resistances, so you can choose what suits you, depending on what exercise you’re doing.
It’s another band long it’s great for weapons. You can put this under your feet and do bicep curls, tricep extensions, whatever you want. It’s even great to help you stretch.
♡ water dumbbells
These are for water sports, so if you exercise in the pool, this is ideal. When we go to Michael’s parents ’house in San Diego, I love exercising with them in the pool. They dry very quickly and I couldn’t resist getting them. They come in teal and pink and remind me of Barbie’s Dreamhouse.
♡ yoga blocks
This could be my favorite piece of equipment, aesthetically. They help me squeeze tighter during Pilates, and they’re so helpful when you stretch and I need a little extra lifting. They are perfect for you if you are not super flexible.
Let me set the scene: you have finished the exercise and are getting ready to stretch by getting up, spreading your legs, feet on the ground and leaning on your waist to stretch your tendon. You just can’t touch your hands to the ground without bending your knees – UNITE IN YOGA BLOCKS.
Put the blocks on the ground, put your hands on the blocks, bend and stretch. They are very vertical and useful in many ways.
♡ hydro zucchini
Hydro Flask is something I keep talking about. My coach, Kim Kelly, connected me to this gem. It keeps the water cold for so long, but it can also keep the heat hot for a long time.
I like to fill mine with ice, water, mint and lemon. He comes everywhere with me. Throughout all your workouts and the rest of the day it will stay fucking icy. Even after hot yoga it will be icy cold.
Here’s a trick: if you’re trying to ingest more water, you need to take a straw lid. That makes all the difference.
I like the white bottle with pink lid & pink bottle with teal cover. What can I say, I know what I love.
Here you have it, my basic things to exercise at home. We all need to improve our game when it comes to exercise. It’s nice to add a little weight or resistance to make us sweat. Of course, it is useful when the equipment we use does not suffer from the ugly eye.
