Expert advice for the treatment of pandemic skin and masks

Staci is one of the most talented medical aesthetics in San Diego.

I became obsessed with her when I worked in a boutique at about 15 years old. This woman stepped into her hat, her skin glistening. I’ve never seen anything like it.

I didn’t know I would befriend this woman later because Lisa, my mother-in-law was (and is) best friend with her. We ended up spending a lot of holidays with her and every time I saw her she was even brighter.

She takes care of herself like no other. He deals with hats, driving gloves, SPF, whatever. She is just one type when it comes to skin care and has been doing it for over 15 years. I respect her so much, she is so knowledgeable and she is one of my favorite people I can see in San Diego.

I couldn’t be more excited to have her on the blog today. PLUS Staci kindly offered a discount code for everyone Skinny confidential readers. Enter TSC10 at the checkout to get a 10% discount on anything on Staci’s website.

I highly recommend that you read this post before you go shopping to hear all about Staca’s products for driving or dying that make her skin look amazing. She will also fill us in on Light Stim. Seriously, it will rejuvenate you. I lay in it for 20 minutes and felt like I had the best buzz after that.

When you go to Staci for skin care, you can expect the latest technology, the best products on the market (it is also stocked with Woo products!) And all its expert advice.

Let’s get started with Stacy Christie.

♡♡♡

Introduce yourself and your background in the skin.

Staci Christie: With 15 years of experience working side by side for a wonderful plastic surgeon in the operating room, along with all the preoperative care for our patients during the launch of AHA and Botox, I definitely have a superior ability with understanding the skin at a deeper level.

I’m not just looking at the skin on your face, I’m watching you all. Creating a plan from the treatments we do together in my boutique to your customized skin care regimen at home that changes like you, is truly my passion. Many of my clients have been with me since I started the business in 2001. With over 25 years of experience, along with my ongoing research on product efficacy and treatment, I am proud to provide you with the best possible results.

Talk to us about what you’ve been seeing since Coronavirus started. For me, I have dermatitis and more acne. Do you see this in your practice?

SC: From a mask, through a great depression, through eating garbage and drinking, he created a platform for a catastrophe! Masks are just a fraction of the problems I’ve seen. This is such an INDIVIDUAL problem that affects the masses that I like to deal with.

Skin care is not the same for everyone, skin science is very individualized. Stress due to COVID alone has increased cortisol levels in everyone, which also contributes to many skin and health problems.

Honestly, my experience is that people only feel better if I create a safe environment for them to relax and let me do my own to help them look and feel better about themselves. It’s so wonderful to see their happy reaction as their skin starts to glow again. We as human beings need to be touched and felt cared for. Providing this service and caring for others really gives me so much joy.

COVID has thrown so many of us skin care experts in the tail. I am so grateful for the trust placed in me by all my clients.

What are the ways to combat these problems that we all get under masks?

SC: Wearing disposable masks will certainly help you, if you are not wearing any makeup or SPF (and I am a control freak of SPF) under the place where your mask lies.

Try not to choose your face … stay away from the magnified mirror !!! Just cleanse the skin with simple serums and do not use strong moisturizers. While wearing the mask, we are just creating fertile ground for bacteria to build up with our constant warm breath. That’s why three-level masks are the best of paper! There are some sweet ones. (Eye gluing is fine).

I’m also a big fan Light Stim Acne Light (sold on my website) and is very effective in fighting acne. ALWAYS cleanse yourself twice when you are at home and give your skin love with good products.

Talk to us about red light therapy?

SC: I’m obsessed with Light Stim technology. My boutique has an LED / infrared bed, along with a Pro anti-wrinkle panel that I like my clients to use after my facial treatment.

It’s a superb experience! Light Stim is the only red light device approved by the FDA with scientific evidence of its benefits. The patented MultiWave technology simultaneously emits multiple wavelengths (colors) of light that (from my own experience) positively “change in life”. Provides overall body wellness with severely reducing wrinkles and acne. It has been approved by the FDA to increase circulation, reduce inflammation, increase ATP / nitric oxide levels, increase serotonin and dopamine levels, and there is currently a study on it that lowers blood pressure and helps PTSD.

Handheld devices for home use are extremely effective for wrinkles and acne. I also have one for pain. All devices, Pro Panel and bed are sold on my device Web page.

What are your top 5 secrets for amazing skin?

SC: DOUBLE CLEANING AM & PM. If you are wearing sunscreen or makeup, use or micellar water or some kind of wipe for pre-cleaning and then double cleaning. After cleaning, use bottled water on a cotton ball to make sure your skin is clean – (city water is dirty). The skin must be clean for the products to be effective.

Everyone should use vitamin C. My favorite in most scientific studies is CE Ferulic by SkinCeuticals (the best antioxidant for all skin types).

Always use a moisturizer, even if you have acne, we just have to find the right one. If not, you will age faster and your skin will still be compromised.

SPF DAILY (rain or shine) and a hat if you are outdoors under direct sun!

The latter is important. Always treat the skin from the hair to the chest and back of the hands. Try to get some professional facial treatment at least 5-6 times a year.

In a perfect world … every month!

What is your skin care routine?

SC: Morning: Double clean with Epicuren herbal cleanser using spa sponge for sleeping. Then I put bottled water on the cotton and use Agent Nateur pink and pearl tonic with vit C powder,, SkinCeuticals C&E Ferulic,, SkinCeuticals Color Defense,, Skin Intensifier HA SkinCeuticals,, SkinCeuticals B5 gel,, Epicurean colostrum serum or SkinCeuticals triple lipid repair if I am dry. Also, Restorative eye treatment Alastin and last but not least the SPF. Or, Naked Hydratint if I want a tinted SPF or MD Solar Science day nourishing cream SPF 50.

Evening: Double-clean Herbal Cleanser using the white side of the Spa Cell Sponge after removing makeup and SPF with micellar water or Neutrogena tissue. Then bottled water on round cotton, SkinCeuticals Blemish & Age Defense if necessary or as a spot treatment. Then either Alastin regenerating skin complex or Skin Medica TNS,, Skin Intensifier HA SkinCeuticals,, Skin Medica skin repair or SkinCeuticals triple lipid recovery, Restorative eye treatment Alastin, Alastin cream and lip balm for neck and décolleté.

I will use it depending on how my skin feels SkinCeuticals glycolic cleanser followed by Glycolic Over Night Recovery,, HA amplifier, & Triple lipid recovery 1-3 times a week at night before bed.

Every time I take a shower or bath, I use a Spa Cell body sponge with several different body cleansers. Then I use Epicuren orange blossom body lotion to my whole body. I’ve been doing this for YEARS, seriously since I was a teenager.

What are the 5 products you absolutely love?

SC: Epicuren herbal cleanser, SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic, SkinCeuticals HA Intensifier, SkinCeuticals triple lipid repair, Alastin restorative eye treatment.

What is the most important step of skin care in general? Peeling, moisturizing, cleansing or something else?

SC: Well – If I had to choose one, I would say cleansing, because without clean skin you will never have beautiful glowing skin!

Which is one of the products you’ve seen the biggest difference in your customers ’skin?

SC: Product – SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic, hands down.

The treatment – Hydrafacial Elite with oxygen infusion and LightStim anti-wrinkle plate is quite amazing.

What is your best care advice of all time?

SC: NEVER go to bed without cleansing your skin and at least applying a moisturizer.

Where can everyone find you? Get under it!

SC: Staci Christie Skincare & Wellness Boutique is an intimate setting located in Encinitas, Ca. San Diego County.

I decided to create an individual medical spa / boutique so that you will never feel busy or like a number among the masses. With our current global pandemic, my business platform is the most desirable. Working in OR, my boutique is as close to a sterile environment as you can. I also have a few A-list clients who appreciate the privacy I have created.

All my treatments are tailored to your individual needs and last approx. 2 hours I rise to the second level as a perfectionist !!!!

I also offer virtual consultations and treatments for facial and exfoliation at home so we can review your current skin care regimen and refine as needed.
