Liverpool winger Harvey Elliott received his first call-up to U21 England ahead of their international matches in September.

Elliott, 18, made his Premier League debut on Saturday with a 2-0 Liverpool win over Burnley and is among a number of new additions to the 24-player squad — the first to be named by head coach Lee Carsley.

He is joined by Nottingham Forest lender James Garner, Manchester City pair Cole Palmer and Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Valentino Livramento of Southampton, Leeds’ Charlie Cresswell and Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey.

Goalkeeper Etienne Green, who plays for St Etienne in Ligue 1, received his first invitation to England at any level after previously representing France internationally.

Max Aarons, Marc Guehi, Ryan Sessegnon, Conor Gallagher, Curtis Jones, Ollie Skipp, Rhian Brewster and Emile Smith Rowe are among those all involved in the past campaign under Aidy Boothroyd.

Carsley, assisted by Ashley Cole, will oversee his Young Lions squad against Romania in a friendly match in Bucharest on September 3rd before their opening of the Euro 2023 qualifiers against Kosovo in Milton Keynes on September 7th live. Sky Sports.
