HCL Technologies, which deals with IT services, works closely with clients to prioritize business and shifts some workload from India to other countries to ensure business continuity as the country struggles with record-high COVID cases.

The company, which expects its FY22 revenues to record double-digit growth in a permanent currency, is also stepping up efforts to provide employees and their families with access to essential health services in the midst of the second wave of the pandemic.

In an interview with PTI, HCL Technologies C President and CEO Vijayakumar said the company works with clients by giving important business priority.

“We have a global organization. We already have almost 30 percent of our workforce present outside India. Some geographical regions have stabilized and the level of their vaccination is very high, so they take a little more burden. Everyone understands the situation very well, clients and our employees in other countries. “he added.

The company hopes the situation will begin to moderate over the next few weeks.

“Clients are very understanding and supportive. And we work with them to see how, if there is a shortage of people in certain operations, what we can do to make up for it, how we can give some work priority over others … very active conversations take place continuously “, said Vijayakumar.

India records a record number of COVID cases daily. The number of new COVID infections reached 3.49,691 cases and 2,767 deaths, according to data from the Union Ministry of Health updated on Sunday at 8 p.m.

Last year, the company established a COVID helpline with a team of 15 doctors and 20 nurses. The company has now upgraded the team to 25 doctors and will further increase it by adding another 30 doctors.

“Employee welfare is the biggest aspect we are focused on … a lot of first-line assistance is provided to HCL employees and their families through the helpline we have set up … We have an active vaccination campaign, including on our campus. We have set up facilities in some locations. We are slowly coming to all the locations where we can make it easier for people to get vaccinated, “said the CEO.

The company is working with the hospital to set up the facility on two of its campuses to provide employees with access to health services.

The total number of employees at the end of the March quarter was 1.68,977 people, while spending was 9.9 percent.

HCL Technologies intends to employ about 20,000 fresher products in FY22, and its side employment – which depends on the demand environment – is also expected to be higher than the previous fiscal one.

On Friday, HCL Technologies announced its performance in the March quarter. The Noida-based company recorded quarterly revenue growth of 5.7 percent to 19,642 kroner in the quarter of March 2021 compared to last year, while the top line rose for fiscal 2021 by 6.7 percent to 75,379 million .

In fixed currencies, the company’s revenue rose 1.1 percent in FY21. For FG22, the company is confident in double-digit revenue growth in a constant currency amid a strong pipeline.

HCL Technologies signed net new business in the fourth quarter of $ 3.1 billion (up 49 percent year-on-year) and $ 7.3 billion in net new business in FY21 (up 18 percent from FY20).

The company is also looking to continue expanding its offering to new markets such as Germany, France, Canada, Australia and Japan, as well as growing its footprint in geographic areas such as Mexico, Brazil and Spain.

“The markets where we are currently very strong and prominent are the United States, the United Kingdom and the Nordic country. These markets are very strong and we have a large presence there. We are also present in France, Germany, Canada, Italy and Australia… We want to increase our presence. in those markets in line with IT spending in those markets, ”Vijayakumar said.

He noted that markets such as France, Germany and Canada account for at least five percent of total global IT spending, and given that the company’s revenue from those markets is still small, there is opportunity to increase that.

Although the company does not disclose country-specific revenue numbers, HCL Technologies generated 62.8 percent of revenue in FG22 from the United States, 28.8 percent from Europe, and 8.4 percent from RoW (the rest of the world).

Vijayakumar added that the company is also building additional capabilities in the digital engineering space in areas such as Industry 4.0, softwarisation, AR / VR and 5G.
