How to make your own smoked cocktail at home

0

In my last post about Nordstrom sale anniversary I promised to tell you about cocktail smoker that Westin bought Michael for his birthday.

You may have seen it on my Instagram, but I wanted to talk about it here and also give you Westin’s favorite smoky cocktail recipes.

It reminds me of this smoking clown Beauty and the Beast– Do you know when they pull that glass clod / dome off the rose ?? Well, this one is even more magical. It really hits your mezcal margarita with half the edge Tajin for a step – oh, and extra spicy, please if we’re boring.

So when it comes to your cocktails, this smoker completely changes the game, and if you’re a fan of cold drinks, this post is for you.

The aesthetics are cute, the base is acacia wood, the glass dome is huge and boy, boy, it works. It’s BPA and lead, comes with hand-held chips for smokers and smokers. All you need to buy separately are 4 AA batteries & a torch-style lighter (and your craft cocktail ingredients).

Speaking of which, let’s get down to Westin’s cocktail recipes.

WESTIN’S FAVORITE SMOKING COCKTAILS:

♡ Smoked old-fashioned

+ 2 ounces of bourbon

+ 2 teaspoons demerara syrup

+ 2 dashes bitter bitterness

+ 1 dash bitter truth aromatic bitterness

+ Decoration: 1 orange uranium

INSTRUCTIONS: Mix all ingredients over ice, then strain into stone glass over 1 large ice cube. Garnish with orange twist.

Ked Smoked Mezcal Margarita

+ 2 ounces mezkala

+ 3/4 ounce coin

+ 1 ounce lime juice

+ 1/4 ounce agave nectar

+ Decoration: 1 lime wheel

INSTRUCTIONS: Half circumference a stone glass with Tajin. Shake all the ingredients with ice, then strain into a glass over ice cubes. Decorate with a lime dot.

Ked Smoked Manhattan

+ 2.5 ounces of rye whiskey

+ 1 ounce of sweet vermouth

+ 1 dash bitter bitterness

+ Decoration: 1 maraschino cherry

INSTRUCTIONS: Mix all ingredients over ice, then strain into chilled compartment glass. Garnish with maraschino cherries.

Needless to say, my favorite smoking cocktail is a spicy mezcal margarita with a half-rim Tajin. If you haven’t tried Tajin yet, it MUST.

Smoking your own cocktail is pretty simple. Make a drink, then place it on a wooden base and cover it with a dome. Put the smoking chips in a small hand smoker, use your torch to smoke everything and leave the drink there for a few minutes. Take it out and enjoy. Cheers!

This cocktail smoking bell is such a great gift idea if you know someone who loves to make homemade cocktails at home. Over the last year, a lot of people have pursued some new hobbies, and making cold drinks at home is one of them.

It’s just such a sexy gift and it looks so good on a bar cart. Michael is so hard to buy so it’s a fact that Westin thought was so smart. Oh, and you should know that you could use this for smoking meat and cheese as well. Yum.

We used so many smokers on July 4th. They were so good with Kristin Cavallari’s spinach and artichoke sauce. While I have you, I will share that recipe as well. This one is from her True Roots the cookbook I use all the time (sidenote: Kristin is in GET OUT OF THE SUN sharing so many skin tips !! )

Spinach Artichoke Kristin Cavallari Dip

Serves from 4 to 6

♡ 2 tablespoons olive oil

♡ 1 onion chopped

♡ 1 (14 ounce) cans artichoke heart, coarsely chopped

♡ 1 tablespoon very finely chopped garlic

♡ 4 cups packed

½ cups of mayonnaise

¼ cups of plain sheep’s milk yogurt

¼ teaspoons of pink Himalayan salt

¼ teaspoons freshly ground black pepper

Can 1 can of whole coconut milk, whole or ¼ cups coconut cream

♡ 1 tbsp powder arrows

Crackers, preferably gluten-free, for serving

INSTRUCTIONS:

+ Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

+ In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until caramelized, 8 to 10 minutes. Transfer the onion to a plate and set aside.

+ Reduce heat to medium low and add remaining tablespoon of olive oil to pan. Add the artichokes and garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, for 2 minutes. Add the spinach and cook, stirring, until wilted, about 3 minutes.

+ Add mayonnaise, yogurt, salt and pepper to the pan; stir to combine. Add a thick layer of coconut milk cream or coconut cream and let it boil. Discard or reserve coconut milk for other uses.

+ Meanwhile, in a small bowl, whisk the root powder with 1 tablespoon of water. Add to the pan and stir until well combined; stir in the reserved onion.

+ Transfer the spinach mixture to an 8 x 8 inch ovenproof dish and bake until heated, about 15 minutes. Heat the broiler and transfer the pan to the broiler until the tip turns yellow and about 2 minutes. Allow to cool for about 10 minutes before serving with your favorite crackers. { way }

Now you have a fun gift idea, a few craft cocktail recipes and an amazing spinach and artichoke sauce.

We’d love to know if there are any cocktails you think we should try next in a smoker. I think Bloody Mary would be so great.

x, lauryn
