We love the southwest because we have several tons of amazing places in a short drive. But living in a desert climate means temperatures are changing drastically. Once the sun goes down, it gets really cold (okay, maybe it’s relative and not cold at all if you’re from the northeast). Having the right equipment is important to keep us comfortable and warm.
On our last outing to the local park, we moored a new one LL Bean gears and brought layers. During the day we threw in some warmer layers, but by sunset we were so happy to bring them. I loved my new poncho and Jacob is obsessed with his new one Quilted hoodies (wants more color).
If you live in colder regions, that doesn’t mean you can’t explore openly. We just make sure we’re in a package and have a little more equipment, like crampons, hand warmers, hats and gloves.
