ENGLEWOOD, Colorado – Denver Broncos right accessories Ja’Wuan James‘A career crossed by injuries on Tuesday had another tough turn.
Sources from the team told ESPN that James suffered a torn Achilles tendon in training away from the Broncos facility. The injury is considered the end of the season, and James will have surgery to repair it.
Given that James ’injury occurred when he wasn’t on the team’s facility, it could be classified as a“ non-soccer injury ”or NFI, and the Broncos wouldn’t be required to pay James his $ 9.85 million base salary.
James has played 63 shots for the Broncos in three games together – all in 2019 – since signing a four-year deal with Denver worth $ 51 million in March of that year. James said late in the 2019 season that he suffered a torn meniscus as well as MCL in separate games that season.
James has given up on the 2020 season due to health problems with his family during the COVID-19 pandemic. In five seasons with Miami Dolphins James has struggled with a variety of injuries and has not started more than eight games in a row.
He started 16 games as a rookie in 2014, before starting seven in 2015; started 16 games in 2016, before starting eight in 2017; and started 15 games in 2018 before starting three for the Broncos in 2019.
James ’injury will force the Broncos to look at the market as they have been planning for James starting with a real fight this season. James has worked for the Broncos for several seasons this season, as both CEO George Paton and Vic Fangio have praised his work in recent weeks.
A few days before Draft Paton was asked about James’ progress, he said, “He was here and rehearsing. He looks great and is expected to start a real fight and play well.”
That proclamation played, at least some, on the Broncos who picked a corner from Alabama Patrick Surtain II with choice no. 9 in the draft, as well as North Carolina running back Javonte Williams in the second round (35 in total) when some of the main drafts were still on the board.
The ranks of the fight that remain unsigned in free agencies have thinned out with a few players over the age of 30 with starting experience like the 35-year-old Demar Dotson, who was not re-signed by the Broncos earlier this off-season and the 33-year-old Marshall Newhouse.
The veteran battled Marshall Gilbert, who gave up last season, announced his retirement just before the draft.
On their current list are the only accessories that started the game with the right accessories for the Broncos Calvin Anderson, which started last season two. Elijah Wilkinson, who started seven games in the right approach in 2020, signed with Chicago Bears in a free agency.
