JPMorgan Chase & Co. has increased salaries for junior sales, trading and research analysts in its corporate and investment banking department, says a person familiar with the matter.

First-year analysts will now receive $ 100,000 compared to $ 85,000, says the person, who asked not to be identified in the private matter debate. Second-year analysts will receive $ 105,000 out of $ 90,000, while third-year employees, who received $ 95,000, will now be paid $ 110,000, the person said.

The new salary level will take effect in February, the person said.

JPMorgan recently offered salary increases for its younger investment bankers in an attempt to ease pressure on young employees who are overworked amid a record level of job flow. The firm’s latest salary increases go beyond rewarding all analysts in its corporate and investment banking department.
