‘Space Jam: New Legacy’ burns Q questions:Is that LeBron James’ palace? Is that his real family?
Ridicule was the name of Don Cheadle’s game, and it became huge
As the digital villain of AI-G Rhythm, Don Cheadle beat James well, improvising a line that calls into question James ’place among the greatest players in the game. Cheadle says there were a few of those moments during filming.
“There was another point where I said,‘ You’re like one of the greatest of all time, the second greatest, the third greatest, ’I just kept falling,” Cheadle says. “And as soon as they stopped filming, LeBron just snapped. That line didn’t make a movie, but it’s something I did.”

Late in “New Legacy,” Cheadle turns into a huge size and enters the game against James. In reality, it was a Cheadle with 5 feet and 8 in clothes to capture movement in a square with James from a height of 9 feet.
In one scene, Al-G dunks James, taunting him as he stands over a fallen player. It’s James under Cheadle, who was digitally big in post-production.
“When I washed it and stood over it, I said,‘ Oh, let’s take a picture! “” says Cheadle, who enjoyed his action with James. “Watching LeBron James play an inch from my face, both in an athletic posture, like we were going to break up in a show, which was really great. All the hand checks, all that stuff, we actually did.”
It’s not that Cheadle has any expectations that they will truly take LeBron James. “I could take him … to dinner,” the actor says.
B or not B: That ‘Michael Jordan’ appearance
Cheadle released headlines in May, announcing it Access Hollywood that “Michael Jordan is in the movie, but not in the way you’d expect.”
Certainly, “A New Legacy” reveals “Black Panther” star Michael B. Jordan who was accidentally recruited during the epic game Goon Squad. After the famous Bulls introductory music appears the wrong Jordan, Michael B. Jordan returns to the stands.
Cameo makes sense given the long-standing relationship between “A New Legacy” producer Ryan Coogler, who has been collaborating with Jordan since 2013’s “Fruitvale Station” on “Creed” and “Black Panther”.
“I’ve seen Michael B. Jordan around filming a few times,” says Cedric Joe, who plays James ’son in“ A New Legacy ”.
“I didn’t really know he had a cameo until I went to the second set where LeBron performed Cameo Michael B. Jordan, which was really great,” Joe says. “I just said what Don said when people asked me, I’d say Jordan is in the movie.”
Lee joked just before the opening of the film that the door is still open if the real Michael Jordan wants a role. “Michael Jordan is still possible. We still hold out hope that we can bring him into the film,” Lee told USA TODAY. “We can do the last minute, even the last second, whatever he wants.”
