Germany’s top diplomat in Taipei said his government was helping negotiations between Taiwan and drug maker BioNTech in the delivery of the Covid-19 vaccine, after Taiwan said the agreement fell apart earlier this year due to Chinese “intervention”.
China has denied the allegations. But the war of words escalated after Taiwan rejected Beijing’s offer to supply it with images produced by Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical Group, which has a sales contract in Greater China.
