Congress leader and MP Shashi Tharoor has dug up Health Minister Harsh Vardhan for his statements that no new COVID-19 cases have been reported in 180 counties of the country in the last seven days, saying it is sad to see the minister occupy “alternative reality”.
In a virtual address at the 25th meeting of the Group of Ministers (CoM) on Saturday to discuss the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, Vardhan said 180 counties had not shown any new cases in the last seven days, 18 counties had not reported any cases in 14 days, 54 counties did not report infections in 21 days, and 32 counties had no new cases in the last 28 days.
In a series of tweets, Tharoor targeted Vardhan and said it was sad to see him occupy “alternate reality as the nation gasps”.

Responding to another tweet from the health minister in which he said that the Co-WIN platform ensured the smooth presentation of users for the phase 3 vaccination program, MP Thiruvananthapurama asked if SMS delivery could be considered a success in the fight against COVID-19.

Tharoor also shared a media report stating that the Indian Medical Association (IMA) had asked for an explanation from Vardhan for promoting Patanjali’s Coronil tablet and said he would “like to see an explanation”.
In another tweet, Tharoor asked why the government does not spend the 35,000 crores allocated in the budget for vaccines against COVID-19 and instead shifts the burden to states.

Congress leader also dug up Prime Minister Narendra Modi around the Central Vista project by marking two old media reports – one quoted the prime minister as saying that every Indian would have a house in 2022, and the other on December 12, 2022. the deadline for the completion of the new Prime Minister’s house as part of the Central Vista project.
