Kendra Kolb Butler
founder, Alpyn Beauty
A few years into her forties, Kendra Kolb Butler’s workspace with a baby looks a lot different than in the corporate halls of her thirties – we recently caught a nettle with her harvesting her hands in a field near Jackson Hole, Wyoming. latest blockbuster serum. But her skin looks much brighter than it used to. The founder of Alpyna attributes to her a drastic change in lifestyle (she moved from New York to Jackson Hole, gave birth to children and founded the first beauty boutique and then a skin care brand), increasing the self-confidence she felt as she got older, and caring for clean skin from high altitudes.
“I thought I looked good when I was living in Manhattan in my thirties and doing corporate business, but I didn’t feel the best,” she says. “Now, living in Jackson Hole after two kids, I’m in a slightly larger pants size, but I’ve never been happier and I think it shows on my face.”
“People say I don’t look my age or have a‘ childish face, ’although I’ll admit that it happens less now than it did before,” Butler says. “My husband is older than me and is still often carded out, so the competition is heating up!” What she finds particularly flattering is the new comment that is appearing more and more: “People say they feel like they’ve always known me. I love it. I’ve heard studies say that thirty-five years is a favorite age of most women, but I’m not so sure. I like the self-confidence that I seem to gain from year to year by making mistakes and learning from them. It’s like a new form of currency, except for deleting the youth card. “Her advice for acquiring that currency works regardless of your age.
