There are many reasons to love Smile Makers, a collection of vibrators that we have been wearing in the goop shop (and which we enjoy) for years. They are colorful. They are extremely soft, made of silicone that is safe for the body and are waterproof. They deliver the way you want.
Playful names and packaging make it easy for them to talk and joke – which means they make great girly gifts and great honest conversations about orgasm, pleasure and desire.
Most exciting of all, Smile Makers have just launched their basic collection incorporating small but powerful adaptations inspired by years of feedback from people with vulva. (You love to hear that.) So while we’re all for vibrator jokes and word games (our reason for existence!), We use this opportunity to get around funny jokes and tell you exactly what each Smile Maker can do – and how to use it – to could choose the right one for you.
UPDATED
ORIGINALS
These four vibrators are what Smile Maker is known for – and now they have been redesigned and optimized. They all have a more powerful engine that delivers stronger but smoother vibrations than before. And they are heavier than their predecessors, which means they are more comfortable to hold and easier to handle precisely. Four speeds and two pulsation modes help you create excitement.
Billionaire
This silicone bulb-shaped vibrator is easy to use and is therefore good for first-time researchers.
Lowdown upgrades: User feedback for this was clear. In this case, the bigger the better. Formerly called the Millionaire, the Billionaire has gained size – retaining its ergonomic proportions.
Tip only: His rounded head was created to massage the outer clitoris and lips to create arousal. It feels great for shallow internal stimulation – gently insert it into the vaginal entrance and keep it there to stimulate a zone full of high concentrations of nerve endings.
Firefighter
Named after its flame-shaped tip, Firefighter gives strong and focused stimulation to the external clitoris – and transmits that vibration to the lips.
Lowdown upgrades: The tip of the “flame” is more rounded, and its edges are softer for a gentler touch.
Tip only: Apply a rounded nose to the clitoris, allowing the shape of the flame to vibrate on the lips. After the first orgasm, lift your nose from your clitoris, keeping the flame on your lips to keep the pleasure as you build arousal again. When you are ready, reapply the nose for a full monty.
French lover
The top of The French Lover has a very thin, soft silicone edge designed to mimic the feel of the tongue. Use it to stimulate the clitoris or any other erogenous zone – the flexible end vibrates slightly and can be flipped through to achieve a licking sensation. It is great for teasing clusters and for those who are sensitive to strong pressure.
Lowdown upgrades: The show’s star, linguistically finished, is designed to more realistically mimic the shape and feel of language.
Tip only: For partner play (and people without vulva) this is a great toy with which you can explore all the erogenous zones of the body.
Tennis Pro
If you are interested in internal stimulation, this is the vibrator for you. Its rounded head at an angle comfortably retracts into you. You can also use it for external massage, as a gentle accumulation.
Lowdown upgrades: The neck is thinner to increase the vibration of the rounded head – which in turn makes the G-spot massage more intense.
Tip only: Rounded heads explore the vagina and find your most comfortable spot. When you arrive, increase your speed and play with pulsation modes for an intense massage.
NEXT GEN
Rounding out the Smile Makers collection are two vibrators that are definitely not an afterthought: The ballerina is a particular favorite on the staff. Both have four speeds and three pulse modes. (Note that each takes two AAA batteries instead of one AA battery, unlike the above vibrators, for four hours of use.)
Romantic
It’s another vibrator made for internal stimulation, but the ridges here provide a unique feeling when entering and exiting the vaginal entrance.
Tip only: The real advice is only at the top – try to insert a rounded head only an inch or two shallowly or lightly. The vaginal entrance is ultrasensitive, as is the front wall of the vagina.
Ballerina
Designed to fit in the palm of your hand and place on the vulva, The Ballerina has a higher-level silicone gel coating that feels almost as good in your hand as it does on your clitoris and lips. To be clear: it is not
only ultra smooth and soft, like the other vibrators in this story – that second silicone coating has a pillowy feel when pressed.
Tip only: Place the narrower end on top of the clitoris and the wider end on the vaginal opening to stimulate multiple pressure points at once. You can try it out without using your hands when orienting it that way – just lift your thighs around the vibrator to hold it in place.
