Exfoliation is GP’s favorite skin trick and it really works. One of the easiest ways to enhance glow, helps cleanse the skin, reduce the occurrence of sun damage, and maintaining a beautiful complexion is a regular exfoliation. Not only does removing dead skin cells, dirt, dirt, and makeup residue have the immediate benefit of deep cleansing pores to make your skin look brighter and feel silky; it also allows the serums, treatments and moisturizers you apply afterwards to penetrate deeper and work more effectively. Whether you exfoliate daily or several times a week depends on your skin type and its sensitivity, but almost every skin benefits from a combination of both physical and chemical peels.

It is important to note that whether you use physical, chemical or both types of peels, it is possible to overdo it. Too much exfoliation removes the protective barrier from the skin, making it vulnerable to sun damage, dryness, and even infection. For example, you would not want to use any other type of scrub for at least twenty-four hours (up to a week, depending on skin sensitivity) before or after use. GOOPGLOW Peeling for the night, which comes in two powers: 15% (for experienced peels) and 5% (for sensitive skin) because it is (brilliantly) super powerful. Similarly, on the day you used it GOOPGLOW Microderm facial scrub, you would avoid everyday treatments like the amazing Elixir Vitae from Tata Harper or the deep blue color G.Tox skin tonic from goop (both contain chemical peels).
To figure out the perfect balance of exfoliating your skin, slowly at first. Never use the product more often than recommended (peeling pads should only be used once a week; Microderm can be done up to three times a week, for example) and never apply the products on the same layer. As your skin acclimatizes to exfoliation, you may be able to increase the frequency of use of some products, but as soon as your skin starts to feel irritated or bare, put it back on. Once you find a sweet spot for your skin, the results should be noticeable – smoother, brighter, fresher and clearer, with a glow that just won’t stop.
