How does the NBA All-Star voting process work?

Fan votes make up 50 percent of the total number of votes to determine a starter for an NBA All-Star game. Current players and media members shared the other 50 percent. Each ballot consists of two guards and three players in front of the field from each conference. Reserves are selected by NBA head coaches, and league commissioner Adam Silver selects substitutes for injuries as needed.

The All Star captains will then assemble their teams from a qualified pool of players (starters in the first round, reserves in the second round). Captains will be selected based on which players receive the most fan votes at each conference. They do not have to draft drafts based on conference affiliation or position.
