TOKYO-After previously withdrawing from all-around and three finals, Simone Biles will compete in the balance beam final on Tuesday at the Olympics.
American gymnastics has confirmed that Biles will participate with tweet on Monday.
Biles said she has experienced “turns” since the team’s final last week. She withdrew from the competition after the vault, the first event and he has not competed since. The team said that it would be evaluated daily and that it would make decisions about its competition status accordingly.
In a series of posts about her Instagram story on Friday, Biles said she is still experiencing a phenomenon, in which gymnasts feel like they are getting lost in the air, and told her: “the mind and body are simply not aligned. “
She withdrew from the floor parquet final on Monday, and the team said her status for the beam – the latest event – is uncertain.
However, her teammate MyKayla Skinner, who replaced her in Sunday’s jump final, said she believes Biles will compete on Tuesday.
“Yeah, I think I did,” Skinner said. “I don’t know for sure. It kind of depends on her. So that’s the game plan.”
Biles, 24, won bronze on the beam in Rio in 2016 and is a three-time world champion at this event. She has since been present at the Ariake Gymnasium to cheer on her teammates at every competition – including Monday during the floor finals, which began moments after the news broke.
