What are your plans for this weekend? I wanted to tell you, in case your ears are burning, that my friend Jason Kottke wrote wonderful post about the commentators of the Jo Cup: “A really wonderful thing about the Jo Cup are the comments. That’s right, comments. They are always good, often excellent, and occasionally sublime. “I 100% agree with him and I could no longer love this community. In addition, two reader comments:
Dana says further 11 reader comments about childhood memories: “In first grade, I made a worksheet where you had to fill in the blanks in the usual idioms. Few six-year-olds know the term “seam saves nine on time,” so I didn’t quite manage to solve this task. The best mistake I made was, ‘Don’t count your buffaloes before they sit down!’ I remember coming home, deprived of how badly I had done this worksheet, and my mom assured me it would be too hard to count a bunch of wandering buffalo, so that was a great guess. And for the last 30+ years, every time someone counts their chicks before they hatch, we warn them: don’t count your buffaloes before they sit down!”
Nicole goes on do you have a happy meal: “Pasta for self-pity. During COVID, I got into the habit of ordering pasta with vodka sauce, topped with a large piece of burrata, when I had a bad day. Coupled with a sharp diet Coca-Cola … it is guaranteed to delight you. ”
