At our third virtual summit In goop Health, we wanted to explore meaningful ways to deepen the connection with your body. Over the course of four weeks, we learned how to get back into our bodies with exercises, restorative practices, and listening to the advice of some of our favorite experts and editors. By the end of the program, in the classic goop form, we have already planned a new adventure In goop Health – stay up to date with the announcement very soon. But for now, these were our body bites.

Be tactful in the kitchen

Our food director, Caitlin O’Malley, showed us how to incorporate your senses into the kitchen with a guide on making fresh pasta. And we apply her intentional wisdom to other areas of the kitchen. Coffee is a good place to start.

  1. To make the best cup of coffee at home, you will want shiny beans. Ours come from an award-winning, third-generation Colombian farmer. The smell itself will wake you up immediately – the beans smell amazing from the bag, while grinding and while cooking.

  2. Delicious coffee is easily achieved with the help of the French press. Add the coarsely ground coffee beans to the sherpa, pour over the water and let the coffee grounds bloom for sixty seconds. The key here is patience. Flowering allows the soil to release carbon dioxide, resulting in a richer flavor. Stir, pour in more water and allow to harden for a few more minutes. (It is known that we let steep surfaces steep for a while and then pour ice over them.)

  3. A shower of your favorite milk raises a solid cup of coffee to a higher level. We like sugar-free Maple Hill organic milk. The filtration process extracts lactose and sugar from the milk so it doesn’t add any extra sweetness to your cup of joe. (We prefer ours on the stronger side.)

Listen – and explore – yourself

Like Katie Sturino, the founder Megababe and author Body Talk, he told us: Notice what your inner voice says about you. Is it negative? Pay attention to how you feel and how you experience yourself. Body acceptance, Sturino says, is for people of all sizes. It’s about changing the way we talk about our body, which starts with getting to know ourselves.

Awaken your body

Beauty Director Jean Godfrey-June told us about a piece of the wisdom she took: Strip yourself. That advice came from Erice Chidi, co-owner Goop Podcast and co-founder of the company LOOM. “Not in a sexual way, but in the way I’m here-in-my-body” Godfrey-June writes.
