Former WWE CEO Teddy Long would be open to returning to the WWE for another run at the company.
In a recent episode of WWE Smackdown, Teddy Long he returned only for one night. On his return he booked a match between Cesar and Seth Rollins, which indirectly affected the image of the Universal Championship.
Meanwhile, Teddy Long discussed a possible return to the WWE during his interview for Rated-R wrestling podcast 313. He mentioned for a long time that he was busy with the SWE, but would always be open to the return of the WWE, because it had always been his home.
“Well you know, I don’t really know that. They’re not really telling you that, they’re just calling you, kind of like you’re always on standby because you never know when you’ll be needed,” Long said. “If they’re doing well, and if they’re not, that’s fine. I’m still busy running SWE as the general manager of that company. We’re doing really well and we’re selling out arenas, we’re on the CW network and we’re currently in about 40 million homes and we’re on our YouTube channel. So I’m busy with SWE, but Vince McMahon has always been my home, so if I have to go home, then I go home. “

Teddy Long opened Cesar’s chance for the WWE Universal Championship
During his return to the retro episode of SmackDown, Teddy Long resolved the dispute between Cesar and Seth Rollins by setting up a match between them. Cesaro won the game by beating Rollins once again, this time, thanks to miscommunication between Rollins and The Usos.
As a result of his victory, Cesaro qualified to challenge Roman Reigns for the universal title at the WrestleMania Backlash. The two superstars should face off, but with the added drama of a comeback Jimmy Uso, things are uncertain for now.
The match could go in either direction, and fans have to wait until Sunday to find out if any gimmicks will happen at all.
