The benefits of blueberries for the skin

BORNICE.

Lush, juicy, delicious brain foods and superfoods we call blueberries are fucking phenomenal for your skin. PHENOMENAL I tell you.

You may have already heard that they are full of a lot of antioxidants that fight free radicals in our bodies. They are just full of disease-fighting properties and also have an amazing taste.

It was very expedient that I added blueberry seed oil to it ICE QUEEN face oil which has just been launched (we will get into it soon). And since you know I love hanging out with you, I decided to post a blog for you on a blog about the benefits of blueberries in beauty and skin.

There are so many of them that I don’t even know where to start.

Before we get into that, I just want to mention that Zazina’s favorite food is blueberries. It’s a great starter food for babies because they’re healthy, sweet, easy to take with you on the go, and babies seem to love them. (I grind them before I give them to keep them from choking.)

Benefits of blueberry for skin:

♡ Full of antioxidants that help prevent premature aging, which we love.

♡ Improve circulation as it helps your body send nutrients and oxygen to the skin making it healthier.

♡ Full of vitamins A, C and E.

♡ My favorite benefit: they help lighten dull skin, which is great if you have hyperpigmentation (aha-bye sunspots).

Balances balance hormones that can help prevent acne.

Lastly, and most importantly … they are anti-inflammatory.

To touch on that last one a bit more, inflammation is literally the reason I created my product line. It’s all in the things that fight inflammation and bloating.

Inflammation is a big cause of wrinkles, so I wanted to create products that prevent inflammation, instead of concealing it.

The HOT MESS ice roller will immediately release and unblock. Not to mention it’s fucking amazing.

ICE QUEEN face oil it will help hydrate and firm your skin, while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The scent is light, clean and natural (because it is), it is simple, precise and finishes the job. Just the way we like it.

So ICE QUEEN face oil not only contains pomegranate seed oil and raspberry seed oil, it also has blueberry seed oil. WHY? Because it is one of the most powerful antioxidants that helps improve skin elasticity, smoothness and density, not to mention hydrating AF.

ICE QUEEN face oil is also: vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free, synthetic fragrance-free.

SO !!! Blueberry oil on the skin. Try it. Learn that. He lives. I like. You will be obsessed.

It would be so much fun to make a DIY blueberry face mask as well. I found this one it’s so easy, I bet you have both (yes only 2) ingredients at home.

All you do is mash 1/2 cup of fresh blueberries and then mix it with 1 cup of plain yogurt. Put it on your face and leave it on for 20 minutes (to be real, I’d probably leave it on for an hour – LOL), then rinse it off with warm water.

The website says that yogurt contains lactic acid which promotes new cell turnover.

How to eat more blueberries:

♡ Add them to the smoothie

This is my favorite way to eat blueberries. Throw them in blender with a little spinach, half a banana, almond milk and ice. Some other fun extras are hemp hearts, spoon almond butter or date.

♡ on top of oatmeal

Blueberries are so good on top of oatmeal and cereals. When I was pregnant with Zaz, I was obsessed with this super nostalgic cereal. I would eat it every night topped with cinnamon and fresh blueberries.

♡ Make your own jam

One of the best hacks I have ever devised is to make my own jam. You can use any berry for this. Take the blueberries and mash them with a fork. Add a little high quality maple syrup,, chia seeds, then mix it all with a squeeze of lemon.

It’s delicious, and it’s so quick and easy to laugh.

Try to get organic blueberries if possible, but my favorites are from Farmer’s Markets. The ones in the supermarket look too big to be natural. I want blueberries that have just been picked from my grandmother’s field. You know? small and tender with all the right nutrients.

Before we go, here are 3 of my favorite blueberry recipes:

blueberry waffles filled with fiber

morning spa water

skinny syrup

Let me know your favorite blueberry recipes below. I’m in the mood for fun, a new blueberry muffin to try.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. I’m going to ruin my face with blueberries and yogurt.

x, lauryn

+ spit face oil ICE QUEEN here.

++ FYI, I like ice reels before I use ICE QUEEN oil. Go away here.
