The government’s Economic Affairs Committee on Wednesday approved an increase in the minimum support price (SME) for crops used for the 2022-23 marketing season (RMS).
The largest absolute increase in SMEs in the previous year was recommended for lentils (mazur) and rapeseed and mustard seeds at 400 Rs per quintal, followed by a gram at 130 Rs per quintal. The MSP for rapeseed and mustard seeds will be 5,050 Rs per quintal in RMS 2022-23, while for lentils (masur) it will be 5,500 Rs, and for a gram 5,230 Rs per quintal
While the SME for saffron increased by 114 rubles per quintal to 5,441, for wheat and barley it increased by 40 and 35 rupees, respectively. The SME for wheat will be Rs 2,015 per quintal and Rs 1,635 for one quintal of barley.
