The funniest game to play with kids

Anton in Frank's wine bar

Last night, eight-year-old Anton and I wandered off to ours neighborhood Italian point for dinner.

We ordered salads, pasta and sparkling water (“It’s spicy!” He said). As he waited for the food to arrive, he twisted a little in his seat, and suddenly an idea came to me.

“Have you ever played MASH?”

No, he said.

I explained the rules of the game of fortune-telling that I was obsessed with in high school (didn’t everyone?):

MASH (Villa, apartment, hut, house)
Imagining your future, you list four things in different categories (for example, a possible spouse, a possible job, a possible pet), and then choose a number between 5 and 10. Then count that number (say, 6) in the list and cross out each word on which you fall (hence, every sixth word); until you get to the final answers. Boom! That is your future.

It turned out that Anton would be a menswear designer in Hollywood with three children. “My fashion company will be really classy,” he told me. “And I already have the best name.” He paused to emphasize. “Lance. ”

The next morning we also played with Toby, who will be an athlete in Dallas with 78 kids !!!

Did you play MASH while growing up? Have you ever played with children in your life? It’s a funny way to spend an evening. And if you’re in the mood to play this second second, here it is online version.

PS Four games to play while lying down, i Toby grew up a lot.
