The Grand Prix of Russia will move from Sochi to St. Petersburg from the 2023 season.

After several years of speculation that the event will be moved from a resort on the Black Sea, F1 has confirmed the upcoming transition to the newly built circuit of the Igor Autodrom plant.

The space is located 53 km from St. Petersburg, and was designed by Hermann Tilke, a long-time resident designer of the F1 car.

“We look forward to racing in an extremely exciting location that includes 10 professional racing and testing tracks on about 100 acres,” F1 said in a statement.

“We will give more details about the race in the coming months and look forward to racing in Sochi in the next two years.

The Sochi Autodrome will continue to host the next two editions of the Russian Grand Prix, and this year’s race will take place at the end of September.

The circle revolves around the venues created for the 2014 Winter Olympics, and was first used for F1 later that year.
