Tebow has agreed to a one-year contract with the Jaguars, which should be finalized in the next week, Ian Rapoport of the NFL reports.

ANALYSIS
The former striker plans to turn into a solid ending to play for coach Urban Meyer, who coached Tebow at a college in Florida. Tebow has been out of the league since the Eagles cut him at the end of the 2015 preseason, and has not adjusted to the regular season since 2012. By the time the season begins, he will be 34 and it is unclear how much time Tebow can set aside, even in shallow room in Jacksonville.

A look from the past at fantasy

Tebow, who signed a one-year minimum contract with Philadelphia in April, did not stick to the Eagles, even after the team replaced Matt Barkley with the Cardinals before the final downsizing.

They were cut by the Patriots.

Mark Sanchez may not be a good starting defender in the NFL, but at least he can stand in his pocket and occasionally deliver a precise and well-timed ball. Tebow is a more trick player, capable of running and creating in intermittent games, but is unlikely to ever be trusted by every fourth quarterback. While credit for his ability to score 18 touchdowns (six runs) versus 12 turnovers (six interceptions and misses each), the quarterback can’t survive with a 46.5 percent finish. Tebow should see some work in a variety of roles, including wildcat quarterback, running and narrow end. That should be enough to make it worth owning him in double-breasted leagues or those in which he qualifies for another position.

Anything is possible, but after not replacing Kyle Orton this season, Tebow will be vying for a reserve job after thinking he was starting his with rumors of a Orton trade. Tebow was an almost mythical figure even before he was close to the NFL, and his impressive three-game starter series last year only ignited the flames of Tebow-mania. His cheering, throwing and passing generally remain worrying, but his ability to run in bruises is a constant that gives him a high advantage as a fantasy quarterback – he scored a quick kick in each of his starts in 2010. With a talented and deep group of passers-by led by Brandon Lloyd, Denver will have no shortage of targets, though they will be for Orton, not Tebow. Brady Quinn stays in the fight with Tebow for the reserve role, but it’s hard to see Tebow just as a future starter in Denver.

Tebow is expected to be the third striker in the Denver rookie season. However, the coaching staff will definitely find creative ways to acquire their unique skills on the field.
