Chelsea have moved a step closer to retaining the title in the Women’s Super League with a comfortable win over the stubborn Tottenham Hotspur team.
Spurs goalkeeper Becky Spencer made a series of defenses before Sam Kerr knocked the Blues out of the narrow corner four minutes before halftime.
Kerr increased to 2: 0 soon after the break, which is her 20th league goal of the season.
The Blues, who are still looking for a historic four, are now two points at the top of the table.
Emma Hayes ’team knows that a win against Reading on the final day of Sunday’s campaign will lead to Manchester City winning the title.

Kerr helps the Blues get the job done
Hayes made five changes to the team that they booked their place in the women’s Champions League final on Sunday, but the Blues were frustrated for most of the first part.
Spencer saved well so as not to score with the headers of Sophie Ingle and Drew Spence, and also hit midfielder Wales Ingle’s shot from behind the corner.
Chelsea broke the deadlock when Millie Bright’s long diagonal returned to the penalty area by Guro Reiten over the goal, and Kerr provided the final touch.
Kerr saw the powerful blank header that Spencer had saved seven minutes after restarting, but she turned the rebound giving her room to breathe sideways in The Hive.
Blues keeper Ann-Katrin Berger had little to do during the guests ’professional performance, although the German had to put her body behind Lucy Quinn’s leaning drive.
Rianna Dean sent a late effort narrowly wide for the Spurs, whose race-free race stretched to 10 games.
Chelsea continue to score at the business end of the season, with their seventh win in eight league games putting them on the brink of a fourth WSL title.
