The head coach of the American women’s national team, Vlatko Andonovski, presented his final list for three international matches of the 2021 WNT Summer Series on Tuesday, while preparations for the Olympic tournament this summer continue.
The USWNT settings will include matches against Portugal (June 10), Jamaica (June 13) and Nigeria (June 16). These will be the last matches for the players to be shown before Andonovski selects the final Olympic list.
The list is missing Chicago Red Stars midfielder Julie Ertz, who is recovering from an MCL injury suffered in the first game of the NWSL season.
“Julie [Ertz] “It’s okay,” Andonovski told the media. Of course, she has an MCL injury and MCL injuries usually take time to heal. But she will be good and ready to play in our farewell series [in early July]. Her progress is going well. She started running, but we will be very careful about how we approach her recovery and ensure she is 100 percent for the Olympics. “
Tobin Heath will also be at camp with the other 23 players as he continues to recover from a knee injury in time for the Olympics. Andonovski hinted that while she doesn’t exercise 100 percent, training in a team environment is the next step in her recovery.

USWNT at the Tokyo Olympics
Andonovsky’s team was drawn into the proverbial Death Group at the Tokyo Olympics. U.S. enemies of the group stage will include Sweden (July 21), New Zealand (July 24) and Australia (July 27).
The two best teams will advance from each group to the Olympic quarterfinals with one elimination. The top two runners-up in the group stage will also qualify.
The USWNT will be looking for its fifth Olympic gold medal and its first since 2012.
The Americans have recorded six wins in exclusion in seven international games so far in 2021. The second result was a draw against the same Swedish team they will face in Tokyo. In those seven matches, they beat their opponents 22-1.
Andonovski has indicated that he will choose the final Olympic list before the two farewell matches against Mexico on July 1 and July 5. It was announced Wednesday that the matches will be held in East Hartford, Connecticut:
