West Ham are interested in signing the Chelsea star

West Ham they are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma. Thomas Tuchel believes the Frenchman is redundant in demands and looks set to leave the club this summer.

According to Daily mail, West Ham are weighing £ 20m for Zouma. David Moyes wants to strengthen his team ahead of the 2021-22 season, where he will also compete in the Europa League.

Chelsea they are open to allowing the Frenchman to leave this summer, but are considering offering him to Sevilla in a deal for his compatriot Jules Kounde. The Blues are reportedly negotiating with the Spanish club over a deal for the defender, and are ready to use Zouma to reduce the asking price for Kounde.

Kounde’s buyout clause is reportedly around £ 70 million, but the Blues are hoping a £ 30 million plus Zouma offer could be enough to let Sevilla let the defender go this summer. The Spanish club is currently going through a financial crisis and is open to parting with Kounde at the right price.

Zouma had a roller coaster staying at Chelsea, so for the past seven years he has been falling and in disfavor with various managers at the club.

The defender has been on loan at Stoke City and Everton, but seems to have found his place at Chelsea under Frank Lampard. However, with the arrival of Thomas Tuchel, Zouma was again at the mercy of the club.

Zouma is not opposed to leaving Chelsea this summer, but would rather stay in London, which could benefit from West Ham’s efforts to sign him. It remains to be seen where the Frenchman will end up this summer.

Jules Kounde is considered one of the most promising young defenders in the world, so it would be a huge coup for Chelsea if he manages to sign him this summer.

The 22-year-old is already a full-fledged member of the French national team and was part of Didier Deschamps’ team at Euro 2020. Kounde has also been the subject of interest for many top clubs across Europe, including Real Madrid, Manchester United and Bayern Munich.

Kounde will replace Thiago Silva in the long run if he opts for Chelsea after all.
