Our guide will take you to the ET freeway from Las Vegas where you will travel from east to west. If you happen to come from the west, just turn the guide.
Instructions: Getting to the alien highway is easy. From Las Vegas, head north on I-15 N. Continue toward US 93 and follow approximately 107 km. On the right you will see ET Fresh Jerky, which is the beginning of the highway.
Starting point address: 12600 US-93, Hiko, NV 89017, map
Routes: If you only take the ET freeway from Las Vegas, I recommend turning around when you reach Rachel, NV and return the same way. You will save a lot of time driving through desert landscapes.
The great thing about this trip is that you can add it to other classic Nevada trips. If you have a few days and plan to visit the Great Basin National Park, you can take a short detour to the ET motorway as you climb Great Basin Highway.
You can also add sections of the Free-Range Art Highway to create a large loop from Las Vegas (or head towards the Rhine). We don’t have a guide on that trip yet, but take a look Travel Nevada for everything you need to know.
Below I have listed significant stops on each of these routes.
How long does the ride take: You can reach Rachel, NV in 2 hours and 15 minutes, so it’s an easy day trip if you just want to cross the ET highway. But if you’re going to travel up there anyway, take a look at some of the other excursions to see what interests you and make it an overnight getaway.
